Originally formed as a duo by Erez Aizen (also known as I.Zen) and Amit Duvdevani (also known as Duvdev), in Haifa, Israel. Both currently reside in Los Angeles.Infected Mushroom is known for their consistent sonic evolution exemplified by the following albums: "The Gathering" (1999), "Classical Mushroom" (2000), "B.P. Empire" (2001), "Converting Vegetarians" (2003), "IM the Supervisor" (2004), "Vicious Delicious" (2007), "Legend of the Black Shawarma" (2009), "Army of Mushrooms" (2012)' and "Converting Vegetarians II" (2015)'Their live shows feature guitars, live drums and vocals, with a multimedia backdrop.In 1998, Aizen and Duvdevani began playing together. At first they released a few tracks as "Shidapu & Duvdev". These tracks were 'happier' and on the simpler side of trance. Later on, they formed the duo "Infected Mushroom" and started working on their first album. The name "Infected Mushroom" was taken, without permission, from a disbanded (1989 to 1993) punk rock band of that name also of Israeli origin, which Duvdevani knew and saw perform at a concert in Israel.1999's "The Gathering" was the breakthrough debut album for "Infected Mushroom". The album featured a dark, rhythmic atmosphere exemplified in the song "Psycho", which gathered much acclaim and popularity. This album was one of the first albums to bring Israeli psy-trance to more 'mainstream' audiences, and contributed to the gradually growing popularity of the genre world-wide. The following year, the duo released one of their most well known albums, also being one of the most well known albums in the genre today, "Classical Mushroom". The album showcased a track often cited as their most popular track, "Bust A Move". This album is commonly referred to as the best example of the group's efforts."Infected Mushroom's" evolving style has also had its share of critics. 2001's "B.P. Empire" was well-received by many fans and critics alike. Especially renowned is the musical epic "Dancing With Kadafi"; segueing numerous styles of music, most notably through the use of strong middle-eastern style melodies and a classical piece halfway through (which showcased Erez and Amit's piano and violin skills). However, the album was not as popular with mainstream audiences when compared with earlier releases, primarily due to the less accessible melodies in most of the tracks. The album was also seen as a break away from the more traditional styles of psy-trance by many psy-trance purists, who felt that the new territories explored went beyond the bounds of psy-trance but not necessarily in a progressive sense.The group's most controversial album proved to be "Converting Vegetarians" (2003) which featured 2 discs (also known as 'sides'). The first of the 2 CDs is the inoffensive Trance side, which contains mostly trance-like dancefloor material. The Trance Side is a logical progression of their earlier work (although it is cited by some as less imaginative than their earlier work). The 2nd CD is entitled The Other Side, and it contains mostly genre-bending experimental music - ranging from the R&B inspired title track "Converting Vegetarians" (which was the first true display of Duvdev's characteristic voice) to the more down-tempo laid-back "Elation Station", and also from the electro-pop tracks "Blink" and "Illuminaughty" (with vocals by the well-known UK psytrance vocalist Michele Adamson) to the short and experimental "Shakawkaw" (later expanded to a full length track). The album also contained the track "Ballerium", which was originally recorded as a soundtrack to an up-and-coming internet game and later scrapped by the game designers. The remainder of the CD went on to reveal other musical stylings, including "I Wish", lead by a carefully vocoded vocal line.The release of "IM The Supervisor" in 2004 (often incorrectly referred to as "I'm the Supervisor"), further surprised listeners with yet another mix of psy-trance with other musical genres. The album was criticized as being too "commercial" by many fans, but became "Infected Mushroom's" best selling album up to that time.Guitarists Tommy Cunningham and Erez Netz joined in 2004 - Tom plays with "Infected Mushroom" in the United States, while Erez Netz plays the rest of their gigs. Netz is a famous guitarist from Israel, and he opens their live shows with some electric guitar exhibition - playing with his mouth. In December of that year, "Infected Mushroom" moved from their base in Haifa to a new studio in Los Angeles, California.As of 2007, "Infected Mushroom" have also brought in Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Jardim to play drums and percussion during their shows. Also that year, Infected Mushroom rose to #9 in the influential DJmag Top 100 DJs poll, where they were the highest placed psytrance DJs. This was the first time the category had been created, reflecting psytrance's rising popularity around the world and the pioneering role Infected Mushroom have played in this.2007 was also the year of "Vicious Delicious", possibly the most diverse album up to that point. The album begins with "Becomig Insane", an intense Spanish-guitar-led number, followed by "Artillery", a hip-hop track with vocal contributions by a guest artist. This divergence in genre in just the first two tracks of the album is a clear ultimatum for the critics to 'get with the programme'. Other tracks on the album also feature guest vocalists, along with the guitars and percussion of the newly-inducted Infected Mushrooms.The much-anticipated 2009 album bore the title "Legend of the Black Shawarma" and featured remixes of "The Doors" classic "Riders On The Storm" and the evergreen Mushrooms number "Bust a Move", which is noticeably enriched by the DJs' well-matured skills. According to Duvdev, the title of the album is taken from a joke shared with an Australian friend who was describing his interest in having an up-close-and-personal experience in a shark cage. Duvdev's reported response was that the friend would look to the shark like a 'black shawarma', an enticing Middle-Eastern delicacy.Infected Mushroom are currently using Cubase 6 on custom built PC'sDiscographyAlbumsThe Gathering (1999) Classical Mushroom (2000) B.P.Empire (2001) Converting Vegetarians (2003) IM the Supervisor (2004) Vicious Delicious (2007) Legend of the Black Shawarma (2009) Army of Mushrooms (2012) Friends on Mushrooms (2015) Converting Vegetarians II (2015) Singles/EPsIntelligate / Small Moves (1999) Bust a Move (2001) Classical Mushroom EP (2001) B.P.
6142
Armin van Buuren
Armin van Buuren is a trance (mostly progressive trance and uplifting trance) music producer and DJ from Netherlands. His musical career started in 1995.He has been named number one in the prestigious DJ MAG Top 100 poll four times in a row, from 2007 till 2010 and for the 5th time in 2012. He's the first DJ in the history of the DJ Magazine to achieve that and an indication of his prolific output over more than 14 years he’s been dj’ing and producing. Being the official World’s Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for electronic dance music.2008 began with the success that the number one DJ seems to attract; he was awarded with the prestigious Buma Cultuur Pop Award in January. This was followed by being voted as the Best Trance Artist in the Beatport Music Awards in March; judged on the musician’s artistic achievements, national and international success, it is evident that Armin van Buuren has become one of the decade’s most influential trance acts.Even a basic list of recent successes reads like a lifetime of work: ‘Best Album’ for artist album ‘Shivers’ at both the Dutch Release Dance Awards and the prestigious Edison Awards; ‘Best Compilation’ for ‘A State Of Trance’, in 2006, claiming the ‘Best European DJ’ award in 2007 and ‘Best Mix Radio Show’ at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2006 and 2007, for radio show ‘A State Of Trance’ – now broadcasting on a massive 40 FM stations as well as satellite and internet radio, with over 26 million listeners a week; a 5th year residency in Ibiza at Amnesia and over 50,000 downloads every week from podcasting high end chart-bothering positions all over the world for singles, albums and compilations , with single “Rush Hour” used as the theme tune to the UEFA European Youth Championship; the #1 entry in the Dutch album charts with his artist album ‘Imagine’, the #1 entry of the DVD registration of ‘Armin Only ‘ Imagine’ – the landmarks just keep coming!The 350th episode and the 7th year of the hit radio show ‘A State of Trance’ was celebrated in May 2008 with an eight hour live broadcast from Antwerp in Belgium to over 40 radio stations internationally. Fans were invited to a free party with a line up that had been voted for by the show’s listeners; another example of the importance the DJ places on the satisfaction of his fans. Considering the popularity of the radio show the introduction of ‘A State of Trance Podcast’ was a natural progression. The weekly podcasts which contain highlights and Armin’s favourite tracks from the previous episode ensure that trance lovers across the world will never miss another episode!Sold-out shows for Armin Only in 2005 and 2006 created eager anticipation of the third edition, which kicked off in a sold-out Jaarbeurs in Utrecht in 2008; over 16,000 fans attended and were enthralled by the DJ’s nine hour set. The theme of the night was ‘Imagine’, described by Armin as “the celebration of our sensations both in life and in clubland.” Fans all around the world should not despair, as ‘Armin Only’ tour dates have also been set for Romania, Poland, Belgium and Australia; the DJ will also be touring in England, Scotland, Ibiza, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the USA, with expected dates in, for an example, the Czech Republic.Born in Leiden, Holland (on December 25, 1976) to a musical family, Armin indulged his passion for music from a young age. He spent all the money he earned with his paper round on records. His mum won a computer when he was 10, gaining Armin’s interest. “So as a little nerdy kid I was writing my own basic programmes, and learnt about the technology from there.” He progressed from making low-profile mix tapes for friends to higher profile mixes when he discovered experimenting with different sequences on his computer through his uncle. “I was so stunned by what I saw him doing on the computer, that I got addicted to creating music right there and then!”“I loved dance music immediately – this great rebellious sound that was so different to the ‘beautiful’ songs of the years before”. Armin cites electronic pioneer Jean Michel Jarre as a major influence (famed for his awesome visuals as well as his groundbreaking synth sounds), as well as Dutch producer Ben Liebrand, who later mentored him in his mixing and producing.In the early days, Armin thought it was wise to have something extra in case the DJ’ing didn’t work out. So he studied for a law degree. The final year of his course was inevitably stretched as he juggled his studies with his increasingly hectic schedule; his rise to fame included lots of productions and remixes, as well as playing out to packed clubs every weekend. It took him three years to graduate, but his determination made him succeed!Armin’s own productions have all made a huge impact and quickly gain worldwide acclaim; his latest artist album titled ‘Imagine’ entered the Dutch Album Top 100 Chart at number one; this is the first time a dance producer has ever accomplished such a feat in the history of Dutch music. The first single to be taken from this album, ‘Going Wrong’ with DJ Shah featuring Chris Jones, entered the Dutch Singles Chart at number five. The ‘Armin Only DVD’ was also released and reached the acclaimed number one spot in its second week. His back catalogue includes Blue Fear, Communication, Sound of Goodbye, Shivers, Rush Hour, Burned With Desire, Exhale, Love You More, This World Is Watching Me, and Yet Another Day. While the remix offers flood in, Armin only takes on tracks that he really loves. He uses exactly the same criteria for his compilations, meaning that every release from Armin or his long-running Armind label is a bone fide stormer that’s earned its place. His output includes tracks for the cult TV series 24, and the likes of Motorcycle’s As The Rush Comes.Armin is a dedicated trance lover, but isn’t imprisoned by a single genre, saying “What makes trance work so well is that it doesn’t stick to one style, and can incorporate electro, minimal, whatever it likes.” His desire to showcase more of the great music he hears, along with the number of people sending him tracks they wanted to release, led to the obvious step of starting his own label, Armada, in 2003.The label is a joint venture between Armin, Maykel Piron (former head of A&R for Warner Music) and David Lewis, who'd previously managed Armin. "What we wanted was a company that could offer everything for an artist: representation, a booking agency, and a record company. Artists can choose full management, or to just release a record or play out at gigs. Armada lets the artists choose what they want without telling them what to do".Armin is now a fully-fledged artist in his own right, having made his songwriting debut on his album, the award-winning Shivers; The events continue to get bigger and bigger, and Armin regularly headlines the likes of Sensation White, Global Gathering, Dance Valley, ZoukOut, Mysteryland, Coachella, Beats In Brazil, Trance Energy, Fort Dance, Summer Days – basically whether you’re in Australia, Russia, the Middle East, the US or Europe, you can catch Armin van Buuren at a club or festival near you!"This is just what I really want," says Armin. "It’s not just love for music, it’s my passion. It goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it’s about a way of living. Music is essential to my life”.
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/6142_h_0.jpg
please contact"}

According to one interview, they commonly visualize the music together before and during the creation process.Shpongle's first tune, Vapour Rumours, was released on TIP Records' Infinite Excursions compilation in 1996. Their debut album, Are You Shpongled?, was released 1998 on Twisted Records. The high sound quality, successful mix of samples, instruments and synths along with the story and progress of the music through the album made it one of the most cutting edge releases of that time. Are You Shpongled? and Twisted Records' first downtempo compilation, Eclipse, made a huge impact on the psychedelic trance scene in 1998.Simon Posford is also known for his solo productions as Hallucinogen and as driving force of the label Twisted Records UK. He is also part of Dub Trees (with Youth and Dubsahara), Celtic Cross (with Youth) and Younger Brother (with Prometheus). Raja Ram is also a member of 1200 Micrograms (with GMS) and The Infinity Project (with Graham Wood, Anjee Sian and other contributors/collaborators). At one time or another, Juno Reactor also included Johann Bley, Stephen Holweck and Jens Waldenback.Juno Reactor was formed in 1990 by Ben Watkins and Stephen Holweck. The group came together as an experimental ambient project in order to record an accompanying soundtrack to sculpture artist (and Watkins' girlfriend) Norma Fletcher's art installation and performance piece called "The Missile Project". The centerpiece of the project was a 70-foot decommissioned missile, nicknamed "Juno Reactor", which the band rolled around London while playing its music to raise awareness about nuclear war. According to Watkins, " was blue concrete. And it looked like a dinosaur tail. And a smoke came out of it." The project took over a month to complete; however, the exhibition lasted only several hours, as London police arrived, breaking up the display and arresting all members of the project. The music was eventually released as Juno Reactor's second album, Luciana.In 1993 Juno Reactor released its first single, "Laughing Gas", on NovaMute. The single was soon followed by their debut album, Transmissions. The album, reckoned a huge success, is considered one of the first albums in the Goa Trance genre. Later the band released Luciana on Alex Paterson's (The Orb) Inter-Modo label. Juno Reactor left NovaMute and Inter-Modo in 1995 and signed to UK's Blue Room Released label for the Guardian Angel single. Their album Beyond the Infinite followed in 1996.The 1997 release on Wax Trax! Records/TVT Records, Bible of Dreams, was Juno Reactor's fourth album. Its sound diverged sharply from those of the previous albums and moved away from traditional dance beats by including tribal music influences. Watkins collaborated with Amampondo, a traditional South African percussion act, on the single "Conga Fury". Ben Watkins and Amampondo followed up with a five week U.S. tour as the opening act for Moby. In 1998 Juno Reactor played a stunning live set with Amampondo at Glastonbury Festival. The group has played as headliners each year at Glade Festival, the Glastonbury spinoff.Watkins released the fifth Juno Reactor album, Shango, in 2000. It was the band's first album on Metropolis Records. The first track, "Pistolero", was a collaboration with guitarist Steve Stevens (Billy Idol). The track opened up an entirely new direction for Juno Reactor. The same song was featured in the trailer for the movie "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", as well as in the film itself. In the fall of 2002, Juno Reactor released a new single titled "Hotaka", recorded in a Japanese studio overlooking Mt. Fuji. "Hotaka" once again featured Steve Stevens on guitar and included traditional Taiko drummer Gocoo. In 2003, the Odyssey 1992-2002 album was released as a compilation of the best Juno Reactor tracks of the past decade.The latest Juno Reactor album, Labyrinth, was released in October 2004 and featured Watkins' work from the Matrix films. The new album once again confirmed the tribal music influences present in Juno Reactor's work, with tracks like "Conquistador II".In 2006 Ben Watkins was hired to produce the OST for Brave Story (a children's anime movie). The Soundtrack was released in July 2006 by Sony, Japan, though printed in very limited numbers.The group may soon release an EP entitled ‘Superman – the immaculate Crucifixion’, featuring experimental works. One of the EP's tracks, City of the Sinful, is co-written and sung by Ghetto Priest, who also provides the vocals for Asian Dub Foundation.In Oct 2006 Juno reactor performed a taped concert in Tokyo. Including an extended lineup and some new work, this show will be featured in a forthcoming tour DVD.2008: A new studio album called "Gods & Monsters" is set to be released in March. Also, a new DVD entitled "Juno Reactor - Audio Visual Experience" will be released this year.Lineup:Ben Watkins Taz Alexander (vocals & dance) Mabi Thobejane (congas) Michael LaDonga (African drums) Simpiwe Marele (African drums) Mandala Lande (African drums) Greg Ellis (drum kit) Paul Jackson (bass) Steve Stevens (guitar) Squid (Ghetto Priest) (rap & dance) Xavier Morell (dj) Play List:Conquistador I & II Biot Messiah Giant War Dogs Komit City of the Sinful (New) God is God Mutant Message Hotaka Pistolero Conga Fury Nitrogen II Insects Rotorblade Zwara Hule Lam Masters of the Universe Angels & Men Wavg (?New?) They returned for the sequel Mortal Kombat Annihilation with tracks like "Conga Fury". Later, the group, in collaboration with Don Davis, had a number of tracks featured on the soundtracks for the Matrix series of films (most notably the famous freeway chase scene in The Matrix Reloaded, which featured "Mona Lisa Overdrive", as well as the Animatrix, which featured the track, "Masters Of The Universe" on the segment, "Kid's Story" and "Conga Fury (Animatrix Remix)" on the segment, "Final Flight of the Osiris" ). Their single "Guardian Angel" was featured as the opening theme of the anime series Texhnolyze. "Guardian Angel" was also featured in the movie Drive starring Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison. Other Juno Reactor tracks appear on movies such as Eraser, Virtuosity, Lost In Space, the Romeo + Juliet trailer, Beowulf and even Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Juno Reactor soundtracks have also been played during baseball, basketball, and gridiron football games, the Japanese Grand Prix, and appear on the PlayStation 2 games Jet Moto 3 and Frequency, as well as the Xbox game Mad Dash Racing. Juno Reactor also scored the entirety of the Mark of Kri game.The name Juno is the name of an Ancient Roman goddess. In this fashion, Juno Reactor symbolizes a "powerhouse of the ancient religions". One of the band's logos is actually a form of the symbol associated with the asteroid Juno. The title of the album Beyond the Infinite could be a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the sequence "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite". This may be related to the several occurrences of their sampling of this movie on the Transmissions album.
74163
Kodomo
Kodomo is the electronic music project of Chris Child, based in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Tokyo in the 80's, Chris studied classical piano music while being exposed to early synth bands like YMO and Kraftwerk, all of which had a major impact on the music he creates. He took the moniker Kodomo from his last name, meaning "Child" in Japanese. Kodomo's music is vibrant and moody, featuring lurking atmospheres, serene, drowsy melodies, vocal slices, intricate rhythms, and thick bass sounds. There are many influences to his craft, keeping his sound fresh, distinct and evolving. Classic 90's electronic IDM, dirty hip-hop beats, warm detuned 80's synths, and glitchy soundscapes all make their way into his music, creating a compelling retro-contemporary hybrid. Kodomo's first official track “Spira Mirabilis” is an epic electro driven journey inspired by the Fibonacci series, which he used to govern the structure of the piece. It was produced in 2003 and released in 2007. His debut album, Still Life, was released in 2008 on NYC's label 5 Point Records. The album was born out of a series of carefully curated photographs and explored how the images evoke rhythms, melodies, and textures. The album has an overall downtempo and chillwave feel, integrating hip-hop beats with nostalgic synth hooks. The album gained momentum online, with the success from the single Concept 11 leading to an EP, featuring remixes by Jordan Lieb of Black Light Smoke, and Taylor Deupree, founder of The 12k Label. His second album, Frozen In Motion, was released in 2011 and took on a harder Electro/IDM direction with songs like “Decoder”, and the title track “Frozen In Motion”. The record focused on Kodomo’s obsession with field recordings of ordinary sounds from every day life and examined using them in the context of composed music. The album gained international attention and is heavily played on the NPR radio, Pandora, and last.fm. It was well received among critics, generating reviews and interviews among several music magazines including Death And Taxes and the UK's Milkfactory. Three singles were released along with remixes by Shigeto, Drift Static, Symbion Project, and Lumia (producer behind Caroline Lufkin). Interviews and live shows followed in Montreal at Mutek, as well as in venues in Barcelona, Tokyo, New York, Boston, and Connecticut. His upcoming release Patterns & Light was recorded in studios in Manhattan and completed in Kodomo's studio in Brooklyn. The album evolved out of a two-year period of sampling classical music records he found at stores, flea markets and sidewalk sales in and around New York City. Inspired by pieces from Bach, Schubert, Debussy, and Chopin, Kodomo examines how these classics can be re-contextualized, having sampled, stretched, and dissected their often unnoticed and most subtle parts. The samples were fed through various software processing programs and analog gear, generating new sounds, patterns, and ideas from which elements for a track would emerge. In this way, the album pays homage to these classical pieces that Kodomo is intimately familiar with and inspired by.The album has a dark yet epic tone to it, flowing through periods of both intensity and spaciousness. There are moments of German influenced Dub Techno, Electro, IDM, and Ambient soundtracks. Notably, this is the first Kodomo album to feature vocals in songs, highlighting his collaborations with Melissa Kaplan (Universal Hall Pass), Sasha Lazard, and John Hogg (Kassini). In between releases, Kodomo has collaborated with and done remixes for Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Freezepop, TPWLYST, Symbion Project, and Kodacrome, among other artists. He has performed in and around New York City, Montreal, Barcelona, Paris, and Tokyo. Chris is also an Emmy nominated composer and has written music for numerous commercials and TV series. His music is regularly featured on NPR’s Morning Edition, This American Life and All Things Considered. He also created music for the popular hit video games Rock Band, Phase, Amplitude and Frequency, produced by Harmonix.Kodomo’s music parallels his interests in technology, science, visual arts, photography, and Buddhism. He approaches each album and project with the intention of moving in a new direction, inspired by original processes and ideas that inform the music he creates.
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/74163_h_0.jpg
please contact"}
