19905
Queen
Queen were an English rock band originally consisting of four members: vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, bass guitarist John Deacon, and drummer Roger Taylor.The band formed in London in 1970 after May and Taylor's former band Smile split after having released an album and single. Freddie replaced lead vocalist Tim Staffell, after the latter's departure from the original trio. There was much deliberation as to what the band's name would be. May and Taylor had settled upon the Grand Dance, derived from a C.S. Lewis Trilogy of books Out Of The Silent Planet.Ultimately, the band went with Queen, a name that was entirely Freddie's. Originally Roger and, especially, Brian did not like the name, though Mercury would eventually persuade them both that it was "right" for the band."Years ago I thought up the name Queen… It's just a name, but it's very regal, and it sounds splendid. It's a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations. I was certainly aware of the gay connotations, but that was just one facet of it. "- Freddie Mercury.Queen went through several bass players before a young electronics major by the name of John Deacon arrived on the scene in January of 1971. "Until John, it had been exploding bass player syndrome. If they musically worked they'd look all wrong, and if they felt all right they couldn't play. - Brian May.This quite shy guy turned up with his immaculate Rickenbacker bass and immaculate amplifier, plugged in, and as soon as he started playing we realized it was right." - Brian May.Later that year, the band was secured recording time at the newly built De Lane Lea studio, and used the opportunity to record several songs that would later appear on their debut album - Liar, Keep Yourself Alive, Jesus, and The Night Comes Down. The demo reel was passed around from producer to producer with little success, until a staff member of Trident records by the name of Roy Thomas Baker was introduced to the band by fellow Trident producer John Anthony. Baker dropped in to watch the band at work and, clearly liking what he heard, recommended Queen to his superiors. It was eventually agreed upon that the fledgling band could record at Trident studios, though after already-established artists had finished their work, such as the likes of Elton John and David Bowie. Relegated to the wee hours of the morning to record the remaining tracks of their first album, the band nonetheless stuck it out until they reached their ultimate goal of "perfection".Queen's self-titled debut album was released in 1973 and received little attention from the general public. They quickly followed it a year later with a second album, "Queen II" which also failed to generate much interest from music fans in Britain, despite the success of the album's single, Seven Seas of Rhye, which would reach #10 on the charts after the band's mimed appearance on Top of the Pops. The band's second album was recorded with a higher budget than the first, and the band threw everything they had into recording it. Queen II was somewhat of a "concept album", split into "White Side" vs. "Black Side". As was in their nature, the band pressed onward after the mediocre success of their first two albums, immersing themselves in a world-wide tour to promote Queen II. Queen played in America for the first time, as a support act for Mott the Hoople.Sheer Heart Attack would be released later that year, focusing more on being accessible to listeners, than the grand and complex ideas of the previous two albums. The recording of their third album was met with some hardships, as May fell victim to a series of illnesses brought on by an infected inoculation, required for the band's rigorous touring schedule. Sheer Heart Attack brought even more success for the band, with May's Now I'm Here and the song that would be the band's "turning point", the Mercury-penned Killer Queen, the latter of which would reach #2 on the UK charts.During this time, the band began developing a huge following in Japan and witnessed their popularity for themselves when they visited the country, mainly in 1975, to promote their fourth and most famous album "A Night At The Opera", featuring the epic "Bohemian Rhapsody".Queen's popularity grew steadily through the latter half of the 70s as they released hit album after hit album, reaching its peak in the mid-80s after their "Live Aid" appearance, and continuing into the early 90s before Mercury's untimely death on 24th November 1991. The official cause of death was bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS.Over the course of their 30 year career, the band did sound tracks for two films ("Flash Gordon" and "Highlander"), released a string of live and studio albums, and had many many fans across the world.In 1995, 4 years after Mercury's death, the band released the album "Made In Heaven". This album saw the surviving band members in the studio completing or reworking unused vocals, unreleased variations of Freddie solo material (a Queen version of "I Was Born To Love You" for example), and tracks where Brian and Roger added lyrics to flesh out a song ("Mother Love"). Queen have been on indefinite hiatus since 1997, when John Deacon decided to retire.Several "Queen + …" projects have been developed in the following years, a few of them mere remixes with no artistic involvement from the band. In 1999, a "Greatest Hits III" album was released. This featured, among others, "Queen + Wyclef Jean" on a rap version of "Another One Bites the Dust", a live version of "Somebody to Love" performed by George Michael, and a live version of "The Show Must Go On" performed live in 1997 with Elton John.Brian May and Roger Taylor have performed together as Queen on several occasions (award ceremonies, charity concerts, and the like), sharing vocals with various guest singers. They have also recorded several covers of Queen's hits with guest vocalists, including "We Will Rock You" (first with Five and later Britney Spears, Beyonce, John Farnham and P!nk) and "We Are the Champions" (with Robbie Williams).On the 14th of May 2002 the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You' opened in the Dominion theatre in London's 'West End'. A Musical about young people in the distant future who aren't allowed to listen to music not generated by computers. Various Queen songs are used in the story, played by a live band. This live band was supported by Brian May and Roger Taylor on the premiere evening.At the end of 2004, May and Taylor announced that they would reunite and return to touring in 2005, with Paul Rodgers (founder and former lead singer of Free and Bad Company). Brian May's website also stated that Rodgers would be 'featured with' Queen as 'Queen + Paul Rodgers', not replacing Mercury. The retired John Deacon would not be participating.Between 2005 and 2006 Queen + Paul Rodgers embarked on a world tour, the first leg in Europe and the second, Japan and then the US in 2006. On 15 August 2006, Brian May confirmed through his website and fan club that Queen + Paul Rodgers would begin producing their first studio album beginning in October, to be recorded at a "secret location". The album, titled The Cosmos Rocks, was released in Europe on 12 September 2008 and in the United States on 28 October 2008. Following the album the band again embarked on a tour through Europe, opening on Kharkiv's Freedom Square in front of 350,000 Ukrainian fans. The show in Ukraine was later released on DVD.Queen and Paul Rodgers officially split up without animosity on 12 May 2009. Rodgers did not rule out the possibility of working together again.More information about Queen + Paul Rodgers can be found on their last.fm page.Official website: www.queenonline.comDiscography:1.- Queen (1973)2.- Queen II (1974)3.- Sheer Heart Attack (1974)4.- A Night at the Opera (1975)5.- A Day at the Races (1976)6.- News of the World (1977)7.- Jazz (1978)8.- The Game (1980)9.- Flash Gordon (1980)10.- Hot Space (1982)11.- The Works (1984)12.- A Kind of Magic (1986)13.- The Miracle (1989)14.- Innuendo (1991)15.- Made in Heaven (1995)
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/19905_h_0.jpg
please contact
19381
P!nk
P!nk is a stylisation of Pink, a pseudonym of singer songwriter Alecia Beth Moore (b. 8 Sep 1979, in Doylestown, PA, USA), who gained prominence in early 2000. She has sold over 10 million albums in the United States, over 32 million worldwide, and has won three Grammy awards.P!nk began her career as an RnB artist, signed to the predominately urban label, LaFace Records. She has since complained that because she chose to relinquish creative control to her record label, she did not like the type of music she was making at that time, and did not like her image, which included bright Pink hair. Her first album, Can't Take Me Home was a substantial success, going platinum, due to the huge pop and urban radio hit singles "there you go" and "most girls". Towards the end of 2001, P!nk decided to take her career in a new direction and have more creative control. Tired of being marketed as a another cookie-cutter pop act, and eager to become a more serious singer-songwriter and musician, P!nk sought the help of former 4 Non Blondes vocalist, Linda Perry. Together, P!nk and Perry co-wrote and co-produced most of the tracks on P!nk's sophomore album, M!ssundaztood, which was released in November 2001. The album's more pop rock sound could be heard immediately with its first single, the Linda Perry penned "Get the Party Started". "Get the Party Started" was a huge, commercially successful single, topping the charts in many countries. The album's other singles, "Don't Let Me Get Me", "Just Like A Pill", and "Family Portrait" were also radio and commercial successes.In 2003, P!nk released a new album called Try This. Eight of the thirteen tracks were co-written with Tim Armstrong of punk band Rancid. Try This reached the Top 10 on album charts in the US, Canada, UK and Australia in 2003. Though its singles "Trouble" and "God Is A DJ" didn't do as well in her home country as her previous singles, "Trouble" earned Pink her second Grammy award in 2003. However the singles were largely successful in the United Kingdom and Australia.P!nk's fourth album, I'm Not Dead was released in April 2006. The first single was the controversial and funny "stupid girls". The album had started causing controversy before it was even released: the song dear mr. president is an open letter condemning the actions of President George W. Bush. P!nk appeared on the Australian TV show "Rove Live", discussing the track, stating that it would never be released as a single in the United States, lest it be misinterpreted as a publicity stunt. A DVD containing concert footage of P!nk's Try This European tour was released in May 2006.Her fifth album, funhouse, was released in October 2008, preceded by her first solo number one on the Billboard Hot 100, "So What". The following singles from Funhouse, "Sober" and "Please Don't Leave Me", both charted well on their releases around the world.In 2010 !nk collaborated on The Imagine Project singing Don't Give Up and Imagine. She also featured in the track Won't Back Down for Enimem's album Recovery. In October 2010 she released the first single Raise Your Glass from her first compilation album Greatest Hits... So Far!!.P!nk was the voice actress of Gloria in the animated movie Happy Feet Two, which premiered in the US on November 18, 2011. She also sang the movie's theme song Bridge of Light.P!nk's sixth album The Truth About Love was first confirmed by P!nk by Twitter on February 29, 2012. The first single from this album Blow Me (One Last Kiss) was produced by Greg Kurstin and released on July 3. P!nk announced the album title the following day, along with the news of her upcoming world tour. On September 6th P!nk performed Blow Me (One Last Kiss) live at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. In February 2013 P!nk started her "Truth About Love Tour", which was so popular that she added additional dates for US/Canada and Australia.During this time her track Just Give Me A Reason rose up to 9th on the Hot 100, her 14th Top 10 hit on that chart. The following week this rose up to number 5, and two weeks later it topped the Billboard Hot 100 becoming her 4th number-one single in the US. It also topped the charts in several other countries worldwide, and held the top spot on the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks. On April 29, 2013, Just Give Me a Reason became P!nk's eighth number one on Billboard's Adult Top 40, which resulted in her becoming the record holder for most number ones on that chart, beating out Maroon 5 and Katy Perry who each have seven.In 2013, Billboard named Pink Woman of the Year, citing the success of her album The Truth About Love and of the singles "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)", "Try", "Just Give Me a Reason", and "True Love", as well as her 2013 tour, which was extended to 140 different sets due to demand. The Truth About Love earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album earlier in 2013.After releasing The Truth About Love in 2012, RCA Records has announced that they have signed Pink for a multi-album deal that will last for years to come.
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/19381_h_0.jpg
please contact"}

His song "Yesterday" (credited to Lennon/McCartney, but composed entirely by McCartney) is listed as the most covered song in history—by over 3,500 artists so far—and has been played more than 7,000,000 times on American television and radio. Wings' 1977 single "Mull of Kintyre" became the first single to sell more than two million copies in the UK, and remains the UK's top selling non-charity single. According to britishhitsongwriters.com, he is the most successful songwriter in UK singles chart history, based on weeks that his compositions have spent on the chart.Following the death of his first wife Linda in 1998, McCartney married Heather Mills in 2002. They divorced in 2008. McCartney now has Nancy Shevell as his partner. McCartney practices meditation, sometimes still using the mantra that the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi gave him when The Beatles went to a transcendental meditation seminar in 1967. McCartney is an advocate for animal rights, vegetarianism, and music education; he is active in campaigns against landmines, seal hunting, and Third World debt. He is a keen football fan, supporting both Everton and Liverpool football clubs. His company MPL Communications owns the copyrights to more than 3,000 songs, including all of the songs written by Buddy Holly, along with the publishing rights to such musicals as Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, and Grease. McCartney is one of Britain's wealthiest men, with an estimated fortune of £750 million ($1.2 billion) in 2009.
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/20303_h_0.jpg
please contact"}

Speaking with Songfacts in a 2011 interview, Jess Origliasso explained that in 2001 she and her sister moved to Los Angeles, California, United States: “We call it our temporary home. We're children of the universe, our real home is definitely Australia. We both have homes back in Australia. But as far as where we've spent the majority of our growing-up time for the last 7 years, it's been Los Angeles.” Contrary to popular belief, the band name in fact did not come from a character in Archie Comics. In an interview with MTV, the sisters explicitly stated this about the band name:"The name is something we thought about for a long time, and we wanted it to be a girl's name, but we didn't want it to be 'the Jesses. We were very conscious of not wanting to make it a twin thing, because we think that's really tacky. So one day we saw the movie 'Heathers,' and there's a line where one girl asks, 'Are you a Heather?' and Winona Ryder's character answers, 'No, I'm a Veronica,' and so we went with that, because she was this kind of cool, unique chick with an attitude."Born to Italian (Sicilian) parents on Christmas Day 1984, they grew up in Albany Creek, (northwest of Brisbane, Australia) where they attended Ferny Grove State High School and Wavell State High School. At an early age the girls expressed interest in performing; they participated with small local papers in shows on television, radio and horses.The girls were picked up by Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records' Sire Records label in 2004, for a reported sum of 2 million dollars. The girls write their own songs, and have also written songs for other artists like t.A.T.u.'s "All About Us" and Australian Idol winners Casey Donovan's "What's Going On" & Kate DeAraugo's "Faded".The Veronicas dislike being called a female duo. "We like being called a band or group. It was formed whilst the members were at school; Rod Argent, Paul Atkinson and Hugh Grundy attended St Albans School, and Colin Blunstone, and Chris White attended St Albans Boys' Grammar School. The Zombies signed to Decca and recorded their first hit, "She's Not There" after winning a beat-group competition sponsored by the London Evening News. "She's Not There" was released in mid-1964 and peaked at number twelve in the U.K., where it would be their only top-forty hit. It was first aired in the United States in early August 1964, on New York City rock station WINS by Stan Z. Burns, who debuted the song on his daily noontime "Hot Spot" segment during which new songs were played. The tune began to catch on in early Autumn and eventually climbed to number two.In early 1965, "Tell Her No" became another big seller in the United States but had failed to make the Top 40 in the band's native U.K Subsequent recordings such as "I Love You" (which became a hit for People! in 1968), "Indication", "Whenever You're Ready", and "Is This the Dream" failed to achieve the success of the previous two singles.Their first LP, Begin Here (1965), was a collection of early singles, half a dozen original songs combined with several R&B covers. The Zombies signed to CBS Records for one final LP in 1967. The resulting album, Odessey and Oracle, was one of the very first to utilise a Mellotron keyboard, as the band's budget did not allow for the hiring of session musicians. The band discovered too late that "odyssey" had been misspelled by the cover designers and were reportedly deeply embarrassed.By the time Odessey and Oracle was released in April 1968, the band had broken up. The album sold little, and was only released in the U.S. because musician Al Kooper vouched for it. It has since gone on to be recognized as one of the greatest albums of all time, with Rolling Stone ranking it eightieth on its 500 Greatest Albums list. An album track called "Time of the Season" was released as a single. and eventually (1969) it became a huge nationwide hit (Billboard number three) after a radio DJ discovered it and put it on heavy rotation.After The Zombies disbanded, Rod Argent formed a band called Argent; Colin Blunstone started a solo career. In1991 Blunstone, Grundy, and White briefly reunited as The Zombies with guitarist Sebastian Santa Maria, and recorded the album New World.
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/19995_h_0.jpg
please contact
19899
Sunrise Avenue
SUNRISE AVENUE BIOGRAPHY, APRIL 2011It’s like a reflex these days. You see a band name, you notice how they’re charting in their own country and across Europe, and check their resumé to see which talent contest or reality show they graduated from. Not this time. Welcome back to the old-fashioned type of reality, via the music of Sunrise Avenue. With half a million album sales already to their name, the Finnish pop-rock band are back with their third album ‘Out Of Style,’ and the only thing you can pick them up on is that the title couldn’t be further from the truth. Even before the album was out, its lead single ‘Hollywood Hills’ was doing the thing Sunrise Avenue are always so good at: breaking down the country barriers with their ultra-melodic music, as the track soared into the top three in Germany. That’s just one of the many countries to fall under the spell of the band from Helsinki led by songwriter, vocalist and frontman Samu Haber. After the multi-platinum sales of their 2006 album ‘On The Way To Wonderland’ and the success of its 2009 sequel ‘Popgasm,’ the quartet are ready to share the results of an intense year of creativity. ‘Out Of Style,’ made with regular collaborator Jukka Backlund and new producer Jukka Immonen, is the sound of a band totally confident about the strength of their sound and their songs. Just try getting one of them out of your mind when you’ve heard it a few times. Haber laughs at how surprisingly calm he’s stayed in what could have been the nerve-wracking lead-up to the new album release. “I’ve done this twice before and I still sleep well,” he says. “I’m really happy with the results. You write the songs, some of them get selected, you produce and rearrange, and by the time you approve the final mix at the very end, the number of times you’ve heard the tracks is going to be four digits. But the moment when you actually put the disc into your car CD player, it’s pretty exciting.” The Sunrise Avenue founder’s feelgood factor comes from knowing that the band are back doing what they do best: making a record based on gut feeling and passion, not on over-analysis. “This time,” he says, “we decided to forget about expectations. When we make decisions, like sounds and arrangements, whatever we picked was always the choice of what would work on stage, which is pretty much where we’ve been for the last five years. It sounds like Sunrise Avenue to me, but I think it’s the most pure album we’ve made.” The past five years are crammed with national and international achievements by the band, from gold and platinum certifications and NRJ Music Awards to Finnish Grammys, as well as sellout tours and appearances at Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park and other huge events. But beneath the surface of that success lies a story of fierce determination, an epic tale of survival that would put those graduates of music TV to shame. “I’m not saying I’m any more ‘real’ than those artists,” says Haber, “but I still believe in that traditional road, that you play shows for your friends at the beginning, and then if it works you go onto the next level, and then at least you’ve studied the whole way it works.” Haber started that process the best part of 20 years ago. He formed the original, acoustic version of the group, then called just Sunrise, in 1992. “The most important thing we did was that we played a lot of shows, because that’s what it all comes down to. That helped us understand what we wanted to do with the band. Our strengths are the melodies.” Along the way, 17 members have been among the group personnel, and Haber spent some four years gathering more musical evidence and experience living in Spain. Back in Helsinki, he remembers, “in 2004, ’05, ’06, nobody wanted to sign us. We went to record companies more than 100 times. It was actually visit No.102 that we got a deal from a small Scandinavian label called Bonnier. We had to start studio work on our own and we were almost done when the deal was done, and I think that worked for us.” After local hits with the opening singles ‘All Because Of You’ and ‘Romeo,’ Sunrise Avenue unveiled the album ‘On The Way To Wonderland’ and watched it exceed all their expectations. It reached No. 2 in Finland, No. 1 in Greece, made the top ten in Austria and Sweden and top 20 in Germany and Switzerland, producing several more chart singles. ‘Popgasm’ continued the momentum in 2009 with top ten chart placings as well as singles like ‘The Whole Story’ and ‘Welcome To My Life,’ as the band’s gigging capacity continued to grow, by now to audiences that had climbed to the 2,000 mark. Sunrise Avenue then took things back to their roots with an acoustic tour in 2010 and an album to commemorate it. Samu, a self-confessed Beatles nut, always had the tenacity that this life would require. “They kicked me out of high school after two years, with all the playing and dreaming and partying the night away,” he remembers. “It didn’t become a full-time job until after we released the first album. “Those are sweet days when you have no pressure whatsoever, you just enjoy the show and you get like 100 Euros, it’s kind of a hobby. But now, if I’m a guy from Helsinki and I get to tour in ten countries already, I should be happy.” So to a new album that does the thing Sunrise Avenue do best: the simple but often neglected art of unpretentious song craftsmanship. A busy year of delivering those songs on stages across Europe is already under way. “We still have our story,” says Haber. “Even when you have a hangover, you’re tired or you’re low, we can still say to the mirror, ‘Hey, I made this happen.’”Line-Up:Samu Haber: Vocals, GuitarsRiku Rajamaa: Guitars, Backing VocalsRaul Ruutu: Bass, Backing vocals Sami Tapio Osala - drums
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/19899_h_0.jpg
please contact
148748
Matty Mullins
His voice rings loud from car stereo speakers, from headphones, from the Vans Warped Tour’s mainstage. Each phrase deeply connects with a disenfranchised generation who feels cast aside, abandoned and looked down upon. His face graces the covers of magazines like Alternative Press, Big Cheese and HM. Memphis May Fire’s official videos have racked up over 40 million views and their frontman’s collaborations with Sleeping With Sirens, For Today, and Hands Like Houses account for 5 million more. Memphis May Fire’s last album debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart. Over 2 million fans follow his band on social media. The temptation to use that influence for self-promotion, for vanity, or for profit, is a great burden to anyone blessed with even an ounce of fame. But MATTY MULLINS is putting his unique gift as a singer, songwriter, youth culture ambassador and relatable public figure to work for a purpose much higher than himself. The powerful frontman whose motivational metalcore commands the crowds at prestigious festivals like Riot Fest (US), Download (UK) and Soundwave (Australia) has crafted a debut solo album harnessing melody, harmony, top-tier pop grooves with a heartfelt, worshipful devotion to his Christian faith. The electrifyingly diverse 11-song record explores a different side of the multitalented singer, as it hearkens even further back than his most cherished heavy music influences like Blindside or Underoath, to the Christian Contemporary rock and pop his mother took him to see as a kid. “I’m super thankful for everything I’ve gotten to do in Memphis May Fire and everything we’ve done as a band,” Mullins explains. “The musical opportunities for me to share my message came from metalcore and heavier stuff like that. I love playing heavy music; I think I always will. But as long as I’ve been in music, I’ve wanted to make a record like this, too.” Mullins cites familiar Christian Contemporary Music touchstones like Australian pop-rockers The Newsboys; Grammy winners Audio Adrenaline; multiplatinum hit-makers MercyMe; and 40-year-strong hard rockers Petra. These CCM groups shaped his early childhood, setting the stage for when harder edged sounds would enthrall him as a teenager. His solo album – simply entitled Matty Mullins – shares a deep fellowship with those roots. “DC Talk is one of the greatest groups of all time,” the singer declares enthusiastically. “I love Tenth Avenue North. I love everything Toby Mac does. And I have so much respect for singers like Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman; musicians who put so much positivity out there.” From a songwriting and production standpoint, Matty Mullins solo work is refreshingly modern, yet effortlessly timeless in its earnest sensibility. Longtime collaborator Cameron Mizell, the producing maestro behind records from Memphis May Fire contemporaries like Sleeping With Sirens, Capture The Crown and The Word Alive, took on the instrumental and programming portion. His music runs the gamut from dance floor worthy beats to something one might hear from singer/songwriter Phil Wickham. The duo first got together to hash out an EP. But after blazing through a half dozen tracks in as many days in Seattle, they felt so enlivened by the process they decided to write enough for a full-length album. The rest of the record was made in Nashville, where Mullins and his wife now reside. “I took the remainder of the recording budget from the EP and had a studio built in my house,” he explains. “I flew Cameron to Nashville. It was literally just he and I writing and recording together. We put together a really solid record that I’m so proud of and I’m so excited to share with the world.” Mullins was emphatic that their pop songs be free of boundaries. “Cameron has so much talent, it’s crazy. People don’t realize how much of the stuff he co-writes when he produces. He’s got a huge passion for pop music. He made songs that would sound like hip-hop tracks if I weren’t singing over them. It’s all over the place, but just really tasteful from start to finish.” Lyrically, the album’s declaration of love and devotion is clear from the first song. “See You in Everything” is a shot across the bow at the superficial. Instead of demanding supernatural miracles, the song implores the listener to take comfort in what God is already demonstrating everyday. “A thankful heart and someone that shows a lot of gratitude with everything in their life, I think that that is the ultimate cure for depression,” Mullins explains. “When I stop seeing things through worldly eyes, and allow myself to see the beauty in Creation, that’s when I really start to see God in everything.” Songs like “99% Soul” follow suit thematically. It’s the singer’s confession that he, like anyone, can get caught up in worldly desires that detract from the soul’s true destination: eternity. It’s one of the most blatantly pop songs on the record, with catchy and easy to remember melodies that put a strong emphasis on the lyrics. “My Dear” is a reminder that the Christian faith isn’t about rules, or earning the way into heavenly rewards. What Jesus offers is free; one must only reach for Him, trust, and commit to Him.“What God really wants isn’t ‘religion.’ It’s relationship,” Mullins says simply. “The song is basically saying that all God ever wanted is a relationship. The rest will be up to Him. If we just trust Him, he will make sure we feel loved, like we have purpose. He’s there. He’s enough. But the biggest, boldest decision we have to make as human beings is whether we really want to trust God or not. ‘My Dear’ is about trusting in God.” As the singer for an increasingly popular screamo/metalcore band, the smart “career move” for Mullins would be to shy away from such bold declarations. But that’s the beauty of where he’s found himself at age 26; with a renewed purpose for himself, with the ability to make a solo record in the first place, and with the drive to lay his faith on the line for his fans. “The thing I’m most excited about with this record is that it’s a blatant representation of my faith. Nothing makes me feel stronger in my faith than sharing it with other people. The world is so hardened, it’s hard to talk about your faith. But the more you speak encouragement into other people’s lives, the more you tell them how Jesus fills the void in your life, that following Him isn’t a ‘task,’ it’s transforming and liberating… This record is blatantly about Jesus and who He is to me and who I know he can be for the world, a world that is hurting and looking for something bigger.”
http://assets.allamericanmusic.com/images/148748_h_0.jpg
please contact"}
